Terms of use
These terms apply when you use Lifeline. They are written to be read, not to hide things in. The privacy policy explains what we do with your personal data.
1. Who we are
Lifeline is run by [YOUR FULL NAME], [CITY], the Netherlands ("we", "us"). Contact: [CONTACT EMAIL].
2. Who can use Lifeline
- You must be 16 or older.
- An account is for one person and for personal use, not for a business.
- By creating an account, you accept these terms.
3. Your account
You sign in with a link that we send to your email address. Anyone who can read your email can sign in to your account, so keep your email account safe. Tell us at once if you think someone else uses your account.
4. Your content
- Your timeline stays yours. You keep all rights to the events, notes and other content you add.
- You give us permission to store, process and show your content, only as far as needed to run Lifeline for you. This includes showing it to the people who open a share link that you made. This permission ends when you delete the content or your account.
- We do not use your content for ads, we do not sell it, and we do not use it to train AI models.
- You are responsible for what you add. Only add content that you may use, and respect the privacy of other people who appear in your timeline.
5. Share links
A share link gives a read-only view to everyone who has the link, without signing in. You decide which lanes a link shows, and you can delete a link at any time. Private events never show. We cannot control what people do with what they saw through a link, for example a screenshot. So share links only with people you trust.
6. What you may not do
- Add content that is illegal, or that threatens, harasses or discriminates against other people.
- Use Lifeline to collect or publish personal data about other people without a good reason.
- Try to get into accounts or data that are not yours, or test the security without our permission.
- Overload, scrape or disturb the service, or get around its limits, for example with automated requests.
- Sell or rent access to Lifeline to other people.
7. A free service in an early version
- Lifeline is free now. If we ever ask money for some features, we tell you first, and you never pay without your own clear choice.
- Lifeline is new. We do our best to keep it available and your data safe, but we cannot promise that it always works without errors or interruptions.
- We can change, add or remove features. For a change that takes away an important feature, we tell you before it applies.
- You can download all your data at any time on your account page. We recommend that you keep a copy of what is important to you.
8. Ending your use
- You can delete your account at any time on your account page. This deletes all your data, as the privacy policy explains.
- We can block or delete an account when someone seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms, or when the law requires it. Where we can, we tell you why first and give you time to download your data.
- If we stop Lifeline, we tell you at least 60 days before, so that you can download your data.
9. Liability
Lifeline is free, so our liability is limited. As far as the law permits, we are not liable for indirect damage, such as lost data or lost profit, and our total liability is at most €100. This limit does not apply to damage that we cause on purpose or by gross negligence. It also does not take away rights that consumer law gives you.
10. Changes to these terms
We may change these terms, for example when we add a feature. The date at the top shows the last change. For important changes we tell you in the app or by email at least 30 days before they apply. If you do not agree, you can delete your account before that date.
11. Law and disputes
Dutch law applies to these terms. If you live in another EU country, you keep the protection that the consumer law of that country gives you. If you have a complaint, please contact us first: most problems are easy to solve together. If we cannot solve it, a competent court in the Netherlands decides, unless consumer law lets you go to a court in your own country.
